The Financial institution of Israel has criticized the similarity in institutional buyers’ asset portfolios and its implications. The Financial institution of Israel stated, “The excessive similarity within the home portfolio derives from, amongst different issues, the comparatively small quantity of potential property for funding, however, apparently, additionally from the herd habits within the investments of institutional buyers.”

The Financial institution of Israel sees risks on this lack of diversification, “Alongside the scale and focus of institutional buyers’ holdings within the home capital market, you will need to look at the extent of diversification of their asset portfolios and to measure the extent of similarity throughout them: thus, in a case of a major shock, appreciable similarity in asset portfolios is liable to function a move by means of channel from an idiosyncratic occasion to a systemic one.
